Joe B. Castellano,
D.D.S.
 Dr. Castellano
completed his undergraduate training in
1986, at St . Mary’s University in San
Antonio, Texas. He graduated Magna Cum Laude
with a Bachelor’s Degree in biology. Upon
graduation he attended the University of
Texas Dental Branch in Houston and received
his DDS degree in 1990. Dr Castellano then
completed a one-year residency in advanced
general dentistry and later a two year
residency to specialize in pediatric
dentistry. Both were competed at the
University of Texas Health Science Center in
San Antonio, Texas (UTHSC-SA). Dr.
Castellano is board certified in pediatric
dentistry.
Dr. Castellano is a member of
numerous professional organizations. Some of
these include the American Dental
Association, Texas Dental Association,
Laredo District Dental Society, American
Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (where he
serves on the Council on Clinical Affairs,
and the Council on Continuing Education),
Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, (where
he serves on the Board of Directors and also
as chairman for their continuing education
committee).
Dr. Castellano is an Assistant
Clinical Professor for the department of
pediatric dentistry at UTHSC-SA Dental
School. Monthly, he travels to San Antonio
to teach and assists the pediatric dental
residents with their training. He has
authored and co-authored several
publications in the dental literature, as
well. In November of 2004, and each year
since, 2005-2007, Dr. Castellano has been
chosen as a “Texas Super Dentist” by the
Texas Monthly magazine.
Dr. Castellano has
been a Laredoan since 1976. His commitment
to oral health care in the Laredo area began
in 1992. He has a wife, Vanessa, who is
also a dentist and one child, Nicolas. He
loves the outdoors and enjoys hunting,
running, and biking, and competing in
triathlons.
